Below is a list of valuable resources available in Southwest Washington to support you on your caregiving journey. Whether you need financial assistance, educational support, or community connections, these organizations offer unique services to help you thrive as a caregiver.

Processing time & fulfilment

Cloth+Foster is proudly 100% volunteer-run, and our team works hard to fulfill each caregiver request as quickly as possible. While we aim to process requests within 5–7 business days, demand can vary based on current community needs—but we always do our best to fill them as quickly as possible.

Every request is handled with care because we believe every child deserves to be seen, supported, and provided for with dignity.

We currently offer two pickup locations: Vancouver, WA and the Kelso DCYF Office. You’ll receive a message with pickup details once your request is completed.

You’ll also receive a confirmation email once your request is approved and enters processing.

Fosterful

Fosterful is a community-driven platform that connects foster parents and caregivers with the resources, services, and support they need. By creating a personalized profile, caregivers can easily access a wide variety of practical tools, including care guides, educational content, and direct links to support services. Fosterful is committed to reducing the isolation that many caregivers feel by fostering a sense of community and connection.

Bridge the Gap

Bridge the Gap is dedicated to providing essential services for foster children and their families in Washington state. They offer resources that bridge the gap between the needs of children in care and the services available to caregivers, including donation drives, school supplies, and direct financial support. Additionally, Bridge the Gap partners with local organizations to offer social, emotional, and educational support to children and foster families in need.

Alliance Cares

Alliance Cares offers a comprehensive list of free and discounted resources for foster and kinship caregivers. Their guide includes everything from discounts on everyday essentials to free mental health counseling, legal services, and transportation support. Alliance Cares is focused on ensuring caregivers have the tools they need to manage both the emotional and practical challenges that come with fostering.

Department of Children, Youth, and Families

DCYF offers a wide range of support resources specifically for foster parents, including training programs, respite care options, and financial assistance. The department is dedicated to helping foster families provide the best care possible by offering guidance on how to navigate the foster system, support children in care, and ensure their emotional well-being. DCYF also provides detailed information on foster parent licensing, adoption, and the rights of children in foster care.

Statewide Resources for Foster care

Community & FamilY Services Foundation

The Community & Family Services Foundation (CFSF) offers a variety of community-based services and resources designed to support foster families. They provide access to support groups, emergency financial assistance, home safety resources, and much more. CFSF also offers guidance on how to access local support and advocate for children’s needs, whether it's in healthcare, education, or social services.
